  • 2. QEW Mini-Grants <ul><li>Environmental project matching grants for Quaker meetings and associated groups </li></ul><ul><li>2011: Grants up to $500 grant applicants match from their budget or by fund-raising </li></ul><ul><li>Grant application deadline: May 2, 2011. </li></ul>

  • 7. Chapel Hill Friends Meeting/ Chapel Hill Early School Edible Perennial “ Nibble Garden” Enhanced playground includes blueberries, hardy kiwi, grapes, passion fruit, and hazelnuts integrated into safe and kid-friendly playground.

Energy Class Scattergood (Iowa) Friends School students participated in experiential energy conservation class March-May of 2010, led by energy expert/QEW member, David Abazs.  From No. MN they canoed down the Mississippi River. giving presentations along way to schools, churches and other interested groups.

  • 12. Richmond IN Friends School Garden provides learnings for children including seasonal cycles and life cycles and joys of healthy eating!

  • 21. Gwynedd, PA and Dover NH Meetings receive energy star refrigerators. Dover Meeting implements manual mowing.
  • 22. Olney Friends School, Barnesville, OH School symposium on vision and energy conservation

Homewood Meeting Solar Energy Project Baltimore, Md. <ul><li>Panels cover half roof. </li></ul><ul><li>Electric meter runs backwards on sunny days and on full moon. </li></ul><ul><li>Solar sys. size 7.2 kW </li></ul><ul><li>Produces 715 kWh mo. </li></ul><ul><li>Yearly savings $1,296 </li></ul><ul><li>Fund raisers, a concert, three yard sales, and a t-shirt sales and the mini-grant paid for the system . </li></ul>
