Learning Outcomes:   (Link to the ADEC K-5 curriculum document )  Materials Students will be able to …… (Write the outcome word for word)     By the end of this lesson, students will be able to understand letter M, The sounds of letter M, to write letter M, and words that begin with this letter. Lesson Introduction Whole group activity: Time_______ Opening/Introduction: (Bullet points) What will you do in order to introduce the concept to the students?    Read for the students a short story about letter M    Before beginning to read the story, ask them to focus in the words.     After finishing reading the story students will guess which the letter that we will have for today.  Active Engagement: (Bullet points) After you’ve modeled the concept, what activity will you have the students perform while on the carpet to ensure that they understand it?   Show them pictures that start with letter M.   Teach them how to write the letter M in both way big and small. Link: (Bullet points) Remind the students in kid friendly language how they can apply what they did whole group in their independent learning centers   Now we will do some activities to make you understand today lesson more.   Work as a team and help each other. Learning Center 2 Papers Glue Macaroni Learning Center 3 Worksheets Pencils Colors. Learning Center 4 Stories. Small Group Learning Centers: Time______ Learning Center 1 Title: (Bullet points)   Explain step by step what the students will do “M  for mouse activity “   First each student will have a letter M.   Students will create their own mouse by stick the body parts that they will have on the letter M.   Learning Center 2 Title: (Bullet points) Explain step by step what the students will do “M for macaroni  activity ”     First students will have a paper with letter M.   They will color the letter.   Then they will stick the macaroni beans all around the letter. Learning Center 3 Title: (Bullet points) Explain step by step what the students will do    Each one of the students will have a worksheet. Learning Center 4 Title: (Bullet points) Explain step by step what the students will do   Each student will have a story.   Search for the words that start with letter M.     They will search for all Letter M and color the circles.   Try to read to words for the teacher. Closing activity: Time: ______ Allow children time to discuss how what they did during their learning centers and how it relates to the lesson outcome “Remember that….” (restate outcome using kid friendly language)     Wow good job, can you please tell me what is this?   Can you explain it for us  Assessment for Learning: How will you determine if the students understood the learning outcome?
