Brush DC 8mmBrush DC 16mmBrush DC 35mmMotor Coil Cross Section  Why a Brush DC r ã   Brush DC commutation design  Longer commutator lie because o the design. ã   REE system  Stands or Reduction o Electro Erosion. The electro erosion, caused by arcing during commutation, is greatly reduced in lowinertia coreless DC motors because o the low inductivity o theirrotors. ã   NEO magnet  The powerul Neodymium magnets along with enhanced air gapdesign thus giving higher electro-magnetic fux and a lower motorregulation actor. ã   Coreless rotor design  Optimized coil and rotor reduces the weight and makes it compact. Portescap’s brush DC coreless motors incorporate salient eatureslike low moment o inertia, no cogging, low riction, very compactcommutation which in turn results in high acceleration, highefciency, very low joule losses and higher continuous torque.Ideal or portable and small devices, Portescap’s coreless motortechnologies reduce size, weight, and heat in such applications. This results in improved motor perormance in smaller physicalenvelopes thus oering greater comort and convenience or end-users. In addition, the coreless design enables long-lie and higherenergy efciency in battery-powered applications.Portescap continues innovating coreless technology by seekingdesign optimizations in magnetic circuit, sel supporting corelesscoil along with commutator and collector confgurations.Get your products to market aster through Portescap’s rapidprototyping and collaborative engineering. Our R&D andapplication engineering teams can adapt brush DC coreless motorswith encoders and gearboxes to perorm in dierent confguration, environment, or envelope. A eatured multi-layer coil improves perormance and oers insulatingreinorcement, resulting in improved heat dissipation. Weighing in at only 360 gramsand providing an energy eiciency o 85%, the 35GLT oers less power draw andexcellent space savings. Innovation is a passion at Portescap. It defnes your success, and defnes our uture. We help you get theright products to market aster, through rapid prototyping and collaborative engineering. With experiencedR&D and application engineering teams in North America, Europe, and Asia, Portescap is prepared to createhigh-quality precision motors, in a variety o confgurations and rame sizes or use in diverse environments. SPOTLIGHT ON INNOVATION Demanding application? Portescap is up or the challenge. Take our latest innovation Athlonix in high power density motors. Ultra-compact, anddesigned or lower joule heating or sustainable perormance over the lie o your product, Portescap’s Athlonix motors deliverunparalleled speed-to-torque perormance. And better energy eiciency brings you savings while helping you achieve yourgreen goals. Athlonix motors are available in 12, 16, and 22mm.More Endurance. Higher Power Density. Smaller Package The quest or high-resolution eedback with accuracy in speed is the essenceo Portescap’s innovative MR2 magneto resistive encoder . These miniatureencoders accommodate motors rom rame sizes o 8mm to 35mm with superiorintegration schemes to acilitate a compact assembly with motors. And, with aresolution o 2 to 1024 lines, Portescap’s MR2 encoders meet your applicationrequirements today - while lexibly adapting to your evolving needs.  Brush DC mr Basics All DC motors, including the ironless rotor motors, are composed o three principle sub assemblies: 1. Stator2. Brush Holder Endcap3. Rotor1. The stator The stator consists o the central, cylindrical permanent magnet, the core which supports the bearings, and the steel tubewhich completes the magnetic circuit. All three o these parts are held together by the motor ront plate, or the mountingplate. The magnetic core is magnetized diametrically ater it has been mounted in the magnetic system 2. The Brush Holder Endcap The Brush Holder Endcap is made o a plastic material. Depending on the intended use o the motor, the brush could beo two dierent types: ã   Carbon type, using copper grahite or silver graphite, such as those ound in conventional motors with iron rotors. ã   Multiwire type, using precious metals. 3. The Rotor O the three sub-assemblies, the one that is most characteristic o this type o motor is the ironless, bell-shaped rotor. There are primarily our dierent methods o abricating these ironless armatures utilized in present-day technology. A — In the conventional way, the various sections o the armature are wound separately, then shaped and assembledto orm a cylindrical shell which is glass yarn reinorced, epoxy resin coated, and cured. It is o interest to note therelatively large coil heads which do not participate in the creation o any torque.
